Why
Every journey begins with a first step. Traditional karate is a mental break from a modern, busy life, yet still a full body workout.
Who
Ages 18 and up. Working at mostly a desk job or sitting though traffic and want a more active lifestyle. Anyone interested in body awareness and self-defense.
What
This 3-month course for is beginners or anyone returning to karate training after a break. Students are introduced to karate culture and basics. There are many long-lasting benefits: self discipline, focus, self-esteem, and athleticism. The course consists of safe, step-by-step instruction led by a 4th degree black belt Associate Instructor in traditional karate, affiliated with the International Shotokan Karate Federation. The course is designed to prepare students for a rank exam and karate training in intermediate classes.

3-month instruction.

We are one of the few traditional Japanese schools, established in Santa Monica in 1973. We offer changing rooms, showers, and a flexible hardwood floor. Located in Downtown Santa Monica with easy parking at the public structures on 4th Street.
